Laid from Palace Bridge to the Senate on the former territory of the Admiralty Shipyard. Engineer Andrei Gotman included the Palace and Peter Landing Wharves opposite the eastern and western Admiralty pavilions (1820–24). Laid out by architect Semyon Selyaninov and engineer Vladimir Karlovich on the territory of the old Admiralty Shipyard (1873–74). Lined with granite (1873–74). Wide boulevard was laid out (1875) and tenement houses were built (1880s). Architect Alexander von Hohen added sculptural groups (1909–10) – Peter I Saving Drowning Sailors at Lakhta in 1724 and the Tsar Carpenter (sculptor Leopold Bernstamm, removed 1918). Recently renovated (1996).
