Tankard

Up until the late seventeenth century, most tankards in Russia were foreign imports. Russian tankards only became widely popular in the eighteenth century. They were manufactured from both precious and non-precious metals and usually had a simple cylindrical form widening downwards, a lid opened by a flick of the thumb and a curved handle.
