Painter, graphic artist, sculptor. Born in the family of Yevgeny Arkhangelsky in Moscow (1926). Fought in the Second World War. Studied physics at Moscow University (1950–55). Took up sculpture under the direction of N. Kashin, monotype under the direction of Maria Raube-Gorchilina and collaborated with Zenon Komissarenko on science-fiction themes in painting and sculpture (mid-1950s). Member of the nonconformist movement. Took up abstract art (late 1960s). Lives in Moscow. Contributed to exhibitions in Russia (from mid-1960s) and France (from mid-1970s), including Abstraction in Russia: XX Century at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2001–02).
