Artist, art critic, publicist. Born in Felix Alexeyev in Moscow (1953). Graduated from the department of industrial graphics and advertising at the 1905 School of Art in Moscow (1972) and the faculty of book design at Moscow Institute of Polygraphy (1976). Published samizdat books and albums (from early 1970s). Member of Collective Actions (1975–80). Founder of the Moscow Archive of New Art (1979) and the Aptart Gallery (1982). Lived in France (1987–93). Lives and works in Moscow (from 1993).
