French draughtsman, engraver, painter. Studied painting under Jacques-Louis David in Paris. Worked in Moscow and St Petersburg (1792–1805), where he drew views of Russian towns and scenes from Russian life. Drew eight works engraved by Philibert-Louis Debucourt for the album Collection complete des differents genres des voitures dont les russes se servent dans leur empire et particularemant a St. Petersbourg (1806). Published such series of aquatint views in Paris as Collection complete des divers jardins et points de vues, des maisons da plaisance impériales de Russe (1811) and Vues des principales villes de Russie costumes, et usages des habitans de cet empire. Dessinés et gravés par M. F. Damame-Demartrais (1813). Contributed to the Salon d’Apollon in the Louvre (1796) and showed works on Russian themes at the Paris Salon (1810, 1814, 1817, 1819).
