Painter. Son of the writer Ivan Pnin (1773–1805). Studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1809–24). Full member of the Free Society of Lovers of the Letters, Sciences and Arts (1802). Awarded a minor silver medal (1824) and a first-class certificate (1824). Worked for the Ministry of Education (from 1826). Travelled to France and Italy at his own expense (1831, 1837). Died of cholera in Naples (1837).
