Italian architect, decorative painter. Born in the family of Francesco Brenna in Florence (1747). Studied in Rome and Paris. Studied Ancient Roman architecture. Employed by Count Stanis?aw Kostka Potocki (1777–78). Worked in Poland (1780–83). Invited to Russia by the future Paul I (late 1783 or early 1784). Worked in Pavlovsk, Gatchina and St Petersburg. Designed the Rumyantsev Obelisk and St Michael’s Castle. Moved to Dresden (1802). Died in Dresden (1820).
