Painter, graphic artist, restorer. Born in the family of a shopkeeper called Alexei Luchishkin in Moscow (1902). Studied under Alexander Archipenko, Lyubov Popova, Alexandra Exter and Nadezhda Udaltsova at the State Free Art Studios/VKhUTEMAS in Moscow (1919–24). Member of Method (1924), founding member of the Society of Easel Artists (1925). Stage and artistic director of the Projection Theatre in Moscow (1923–32) and the film Circus (1936). Member of the Union of Artists (1932). Died in Moscow (1989). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1924).
